JOB SCOPE

  • Manages upkeep of upholstered table surrounds and layouts within all areas of MBS complex.
  • Provides high quality upholstery and repair services within efficient time schedules.
  • Tailor duties and processes to maximize efficiencies, with particular emphasis on minimizing Slot and Table Games downtime.
  • Manages and minimizes manpower consumption. Ensures efficient use of casual labor to ensure maximum work output v cost.
  • Ensures adequate stock of all approved layouts in general usage.
  • Ensures destruction of outdated or non-approved layouts.
  • Liaises with designer as required to receive new layout designs.
  • Manage inventory within space constraints, taking into account delivery timelines.
  • Receives and inspects shipment of materials, equipment & layout orders to ensure compliance with purchase order specifications.
  • Conducts quality and layout checks in compliance with department’s Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Performs inventory management of table layouts, ensure quantity for different game types properly accounted for.
  • Participates in/assists with assignments and special projects as requested, ensuring efficiency and minimal downtime for the departments and the company.
  • Performs all duties in accordance with MBS policies and within the realm of the MBS Company’s   vision, mission, and values.
  • Performs any other ad-hoc duty as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Certification

  • ITE or technical equivalent

Experience

  • Minimum three years of experience as an Upholsterer, preferably involved in furniture making industry or hospitality industry furniture repairs.
  • Worked in the Engineering or Facilities department in relation to Upholstery works.

Competencies

  • Knowledgeable and skilled in a variety of Upholstery Works.
  • Knowledge of Fabric characteristics & classification.
  • Competent to operate portable hand-sewing equipment, nail guns, hobnail. tack hammers, hot-knife cutters, and other industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of basic soft furniture frame making or repair.
